Almond Milk

Almond Milk
This recipe is low in Sodium, and very low in Cholesterol. It is also a good source of Vitamin E (Alpha Tocopherol) and Manganese.

Makes 1000 ml
1000 g water
140 g almonds, whole, organic, (soaked overnight & rinsed)

Add water and soaked almonds to the WildSide+ jar in order listed and secure lid.
Blend on a high speed for 50 to 60 seconds.
Strain milk through a sieve lined with a tea towel to remove almond skins and pulp.
Transfer this simple almond milk into the desired sterilised vessel, or otherwise, proceed with the following additional stages.

Rinse out the blendtec wild side jug.
Transfer the freshly expressed almond milk from the glass measuring jar back into the cleaned wild side jar.
Add your additional flavourings (vanilla seeds from a fresh organic pod / medicinal spices of your choice) - secure lid.
Press the pulse programme 5 times to combine thoroughly.
Serve immediately or store in a sterilised glass jar.

Label and date the glass jar with a permanent pen.
Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days - after 4 days, store in the freezer.

Notes:
Retain the almond pulp. Dehydrate. Store in glass jar. Use as defatted almond meal in other recipes.
